American politics is stuck in boomer-era disagreements and cultural politics nobody will care about in 20 years if the material conditions for working people continue to degrade.

Nationalizing Amazon is a wedge unstick the confused, more than polar gridlock of American society.

Achieving something both actually necessary and symbolic is the way.

People in the Nationalize Amazon Party care about a lot of different issues local to them and their experience. Plurality is what makes America the unique cultural experiment that it is. But conventional political parties with their uniform platforms and compromises have bored us into detachment and dystopic submission. Of course the environment needs to be inhabitable, of course we need a more egalitarian society — but to get there we can’t fight for these things directly without an expansion of the moral and economic imagination.

Nationalize Amazon is a single issue party. We do this because if we can convince Americans that doing this is what’s right, we’ll be able to figure everything else out together.
